I hope you love your house as much as I love mine, LOL We had a great first Christmas in the new house this year. Although, I wasn't feeling that well, at least the house looked good, LOL I am so looking forward to spring so we can start on the sun porch renovations. I had all my plants out there since late October when I took them off the deck, they were fine for the past few months, so I thought they would be okay out there, well the other day the wind chill was well below zero, and I noticed the next morning all my plants died!!! I was so very upset. So now I have to replace about 7-8 good size plants, ficus tree, palm tree, dragon plant, etc. most disappointing of all I had a huge monstera plant, the leaves were no nice & big I used to use them for placemats at my Luau parties, and put a few stems in vases, so beautiful!!! I am going to wait until the weather gets warmer so I won't have to crowd them in the house. Next winter we will have heat in the sunporch, so I won't have to worry about that happening again. Write and tell me about your new house, can't wait to hear all about it!!! Sharon

The house is looking good - not much needing doing to it other than general maintenance, especially as it's been empty for a while. Some jobs do need doing though. I want to get the gutters cleared as they have tussocks in them! Need to get that done this month before the starlings start nesting so they don't get disturbed - looks like some may be in the eaves. Sharon, did your monstera not mind you taking its leaves off?

I used to cut big leaves off and put them in water and they looked so nice, that never bothered the plant, new leaves would sprout up later. Now I cut everything off right down to the roots, I doubt if it will grow back. As soon as spring comes I am going to buy another one, its a great looking plant. Plus when I have more LUAUs I can use the leaves again. How is the house coming along? Mine is great, loving it. The house is coming along really well. I finally called in my DXBF, Duncan, who is a plumber, to fix the washing machine - it conked out about two or three weeks ago after the frost, and I didn't get round to calling him until the weekend. He also recommended an electrician so I can get that looked at too. I've booked someone to come and look at small building jobs and maybe quote me for working on the workshop, and someone else to quote me for loft ladders. Duncan has offered to put the heating in for me in the workshop, and his son (who was just a little boy when I was going out with Duncan) is now a joiner and can fit partition walls and floors etc for me. To be honest, it's really only basic maintenance that needs to be done (the electrics are a priority - they're scary!). The rest of the work I want doing is on the workshop.

I am getting used to YUKU, at first I didn't like it much. But at least its a change, LOL It sounds really exciting to have your workshop done!!! We got a quote to renovate our sunporch last month, almost $18,000!!! My son-in-law who is also a contractor offered to do it for about $4,000 less. The only drawback is that he will have to do it in his spare time. But we can help him with the work so maybe it will be done by the beginning of summer. I was hoping he would start work in March and be done by the end of May. You have a loft??!! How wonderful.... Sharon
