Congratulations on the move, Sharon! I think Normy's suggestion on parting with the vases is about as good as it gets.

As far as the regret later, maybe try stepping back and thinking differently. Was it really a big deal about the project? It's not like all the other kids had a ready supply of props, either. Maybe it just made her be more creative.

Think of clearing out stuff as an adventure! When something comes up, you will have an opportunity to deal with the need a new way. Sometimes by buying just what is needed (one item instead of a whole box of stuff), creating something (making an indian drum with a tin can), or by getting more creative with the the few items you keep (10 vases instead of 30).
